Following the success of the initial O2 Academy Magazine, I was commissioned again to edit a follow up issue in the summer of 2012. Again targeting students nationally during Fresher’s Week, it featured Bloc Party, The Midnight Beast, Labrinth, Lianne La Havas, Delilah, Pulled Apart By Horses, Django Django and Alt-J. I wanted to spread the love with the writing this time around (I had a much longer lead time) so as well as my interviews I commissioned UK Noisey Editor Jo Fuertes-Knight, Kerrang! editor James McMahon, Time Out’s Danielle Goldstein, Q and NME writer Michael Holder and Dummy Editor Ruth Saxelby to speak to some of the biggest music artists in the country. This had a print run of 230,000.
